OSim 2007

Spent the morning at East Coast Park, where Nithe and uncle David took part in the Osim Triathlon Sprint 2007. The sprint comprises of 750m swim, 20km cycle, and 5km run whereas the olympic distance is double of everything. Had a great time trying to spot them as they were in the same wave. I juz rooted myself near the transition area where they bound to pass and wait for them to appear. It even started raining at the end and crazy people like me took out our brollies and continued cheering the participants on. I doubt I'll even complete a triathlon. It's way too demanding for me.. hahaha.. I'm satisfied being those at the sidelines, encouraging them to go on.

How cool is it to have you name printed on your number tag

durian power

I know what's causing my gain in weight. I've been snacking alot at office coz it's really really cold and there's free supplies of drinks in the fridge. Most importantly, Nithe's parents have been feeding me with durian 3-4 times per week. How to not gain weight?

More BBQ?

Had 2 BBQs in 2 days at the same place. One was uncle Lester's (nithe's dad)belated 49th birthday, and the other Joshua's NOC farewell. Both were fun!

how many times would you try?

Would you still bother to ask someone out after MULTIPLE rejections? I don't think I'll make that effort..

yellow river

Went to listen to John's (nithe's cousin) concerto performance. Each movement was played by different people and it's clear that John is the best. By comparing credentials, he's way above the rest. One is more a cellist than a pianist, one is a finalist in the intermediate national piano competion, and the other I really can't remember. John is the only true trained pianist. He WON the open category of national piano competition. Even though he plays in church quite often, it's different seeing him play with an orchestra on stage.

Nithe and I sneaked out after his performance and went Raffles City to satisfy my shopping desires. This is how Nithe will look if he loses his perfect eye sight.

california pizza

Another successful BIE gathering.. Eric organized his OWN farewell as he'll be leaving for NOC (Biovalley) for 1 year. Imagine if no one turned up, poor Eric will leave for States with NO friends from NUS BIE.. Don't be sad Eric, we'll be nice to you since you offered to shop back stuffs for us (he volunteered VictoriaSecrets. hmmm). Like always, we had a great time. Even though we don't meet up often, there're always things to talk and laugh and gossip about.

How come there's more girls than guys in engineering?

Look at how Kristy is trying to accomodate us

20 dollar denomination

Went to the bank with my colleagues during lunch break and this is what I found. This note commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Currency Interchangeability Agreement between both Brunei and Singapore. The Monetary Authority of Singapore will issue a total of 3 million individual notes.

angus house

Dined at ANGUS HOUSE, this japanese steak and seafood restaurant located at some corner of Takashimaya, with my family and nithe. This place is recommended by my cousin coz we were talking about LAWRY's and MORTON's of CHICAGO, and she said this place also serves great steak at reasonable prices. I was surprised when I first walked in.. The ambience was like some British Club, really nice.
The waitress then led us into a PRIVATE room, juz reserved for US! It felt so exclusive.. And we need not pay extra for the room, juz a min. spending of $300 bucks.
Most of us ordered WAGYU BEEF set. It comes with appetiser, soup, salad, main course, and desert. 5 courses for about $100++ per head, depending on the weight and portion of the beef. The beef tasted really really good. This is now my favourite steak house since LAWRY's and MORTON's of CHICAGO are way way too expensive. hahaha..
WAGYU tenderloin (200g)
It's about 1.5 inches thick
WAGYU ribeye (200g)
Is anybody feeling hungry now? heehee

little women

Was complaining to Nithe about all the weird women at work. Basically, I can pin point something about each of them that irritates me, mainly with some being overly INEFFICIENT, to those who juz can't stop talking. I guess it's juz a female thing to criticize their own kind. Nithe said his mum is also like that, forever complaining and criticizing her workmates, while his dad seems nonchalent about it.
.
.
Nithe, remember what Chris Chia said about woman's intuition about other women?

won't it be nice

There was this sweet vanilla scent throughout IBP today. Wonder where did it come from since there ain't any confectories within the vicinity and it's the first time we smelt it. Reminded me of this.

sing to me my angel

Dinner @ triple3 to celebrate nithe's dad's birthday.. Ate so much till I can't sleep at night. The food was good, but not great as compared to our first visit. Lesson leant: It's not advisable to patronize the same restaurant too often regardless of how much you liked it the first time. The JazzTrioBand was good as ever.. They went to every individual table to sing. It's like a walking LIVE jukebox!

posh bob

Both manda and I decided that this is the coolest hairstyle for now.. Too bad my fringe isn't long enough so I shall be patient and let it grow before I do something drastic to my hair once again. I still prefer short hair.. Long hair is too girly for my likings.. heehee

iphone madness

Really getting bored of working.. Gotta drag myself up at 7.45am each morning to reach work IBP at 8.30am. Luckily IBP is only 10 mins drive from my place and my dad sends me to work daily. Last week before the GST hike, people were crazily upgrading their handsets, making use of all handset upgrade vouchers (HUV) before expiry. In fact, the 7% GST did not affect the pricing of phones.. Hahaha.. Greedy Singaporeans. Like my dad said, instead of saving 2% GST, you are spending few hundred more.
Seriously can't wait for iphone to be launch in Singapore. Contemplated to get my mum's HQ people to courier a set over for me but felt that it was too huge a risk.. Firstly, I don't get to inspect the set personally. Secondly, it might not be international warranty. Thirdly, the first batch was rumoured to have quite a number of problems. Lastly, Sony Ericsson is also launching a new phone at about the same time iphone reaches Singapore, and has better specifications.. So yar.. shall wait and see.. Meanwhile, I shall be contented with my phone and learn of new ways how to cheat M1 for more HUVs when i really intend to upgrade my phone.

busy as a bee

Have been working from 8.30am till about 9pm daily for the past week. Damn busy at work.. We don't even have time to rest and stone or feel sleepy after lunch. We're like constantly having a battle against time.. I kinda like the fast pace feeling but sometimes feel that we temp staffs do more than some of the permanent staffs. Shall bear with it and do as much OT as possible. The staffs there are all nice people but there's also alot of badmouthing behind people's back. Well.. office politics. I'm juz a bystander
