maybe a butterfly will be attracted to my skirt

As you can tell, I'm madly into floral now. I used to find colorful floral prints very 'auntie' and old fashion but now, floral brings a new meaning. It totally adds a different dimension to the outfit. And I'm loving my doc martens but haven't gotten the chance to wear them out. I'll probably get a million stares if I'm to walk down town like this. That's when the shades come in handy =)

voodoo prick

The eye doctor at Camden said that there are many holes on my cornea, as though someone has been poking it with a needle. hmmm... someone must have bought a voodoo doll and pricking my eyes. It becomes a little scary when 1 side can't read font 36 even with my glasses on. So no contact lenses for me for the next 2 weeks. This is like the second eye infection I had over the past 3 months. Maybe it's a sign telling me to stop wearing contact lenses.....

Wedding the KL style

And so I witnessed a so-called traditional Cantonese wedding ceremony. It's pretty much similar to those seen in HK dramas. Really typical Chinese style which I don't think many people on SG actually follow these days.

The groom arrives together with a 'match-maker' and he has to bargain his way into the house to 'grab' his wife. Pretty standard I guess minus the match-maker. It's actually an occupation....

My cousins. Distant cousins actually. Their parents are my mum's cousin (I think).

When we managed to grab our hands on the bride and groom

I don't think they place emphasis on the wedding dinner. It's more of the tradition which they follow. There's like no dress code for the dinner. I see many of the guests dressed in t-shirt and jeans? Oh well.. Thankfully I'm not over-dressed.

unfulfilling shopping

I've to admit defeat. A shopping trip is not for me. I need to be inspired to shop and can't shop at command. We covered almost every shopping centre, walked till our feets couldn't move and I only managed to pocket a pair of ray ban aviators. Thankfully it's at a fraction of SG's price. Some major savings there. Totally loving it to bits and time to retire those wayfarers. The only consolation is that my mum bought herself a 'present' which I'll probably use more often then her. My mum always thinks of us when she shops. I swear I didn't con her into buying it. Somehow I juz happened to benefit most from it =)

***********
I've been eyeing on a pair of white Frankie B (on sale for 70% off) for a really long time but juz couldn't justify buying another pair of denim. The lusting came to an end when I was 'forced' to buy it. My mum bought a gown from Laundry by Shelli Segal for my cousin's wedding and won $30 lucky draw voucher at its sister stall 'Patterns'. On top of that, they were having an additional 10% off for sale items when paid with Mastercard. I ended up paying [90% x ($299 x 30%)] - $30. My dad calls this the law of attraction =)

And when filing in their mail list, for the first time under occupation, I filled in UNEMPLOYED...

oh please...

The job nagging has officially begun. Someone get me out of my house........

I'm finally done =)

120 MCQs, 3 choose 1. Sounds simple right. Go try 2 sessions of 3 hrs. It was like the longest 6 hrs ever but I'm juz thankful it's over and I can enjoy my holidays proper =) Time for more sewing and basking in the sun for summer.

And to celebrate my new found freedom, I succumbed to this beauty. It's a little heavy but I'll be well protected for all weathers. Perfect shoes for traveling.

some sort of encouragement

From an email sent out from our CFA mentor:

As we move into the last 2 days towards exam day (injury time), I believe most of you should have done about 4-6 mock papers by now and graded yourself accordingly.. it is important to maintain your composure and not burn yourself out in this final stage of exam preparation. Just do another mock paper if you have time and really spend some time to review the errors you have made.

Target passing score is 70%. If your score for those mock papers has been:

- consistently above 70%: don't worry too much, just keep your engine warm, as D-day draws near
- 60%-70% on average: you still stand a good fighting chance of passing, if you can quickly beef up your weak topics
- below 60%: no worries, there's always another time next season
